Hello everyone! St. Patrick's Faith Formation program is looking to change our curricula for grades K-12th grade. Please let us know what series you are using and how might this fit with our potential Covid-19 restrictions. We are presently using Gospel Weeklies for Kindergarten, Be My Disciples for 1-6th, and a variety of resources for 7-12th. Thank you in advance for any idea or input. Have a Blessed week!

Hi Joan, are you still considering Catechesis of the Good Shepherd?
I am looking to leave Blessed are We from RCL Benzinger. I was looking at Be My Disciple. Why are you leaving it?
I am excited for Spirit of Truth by Sophia Press, but its content is not what my pastor is looking for. The scripted nature seems helpful for the Catechists.
Our plan for when COVID prevents us from meeting is a family Catechesis packed that I will hand out in a mask and gloves on Wednesdays. It will have a parable, Old Testament story, or story of Jesus's miracles or interactions. Then we will add a question that will work for any age group (ie, which person is most like you in this story and why, or have you ever felt worried like __ did and what can you do when you are worried). I tried online learning during the spring and the interactions declined rapidly. With this, I can touch base with the families who drive up to me and hopefully I can instigate some domestic faith conversations. Let me know your thoughts.
Kelley-Be My Disciple is a good program. One of the reasons we are looking at leaving it is is due to updating our program (we have used Be My Disciple for several years now so looking for a refresh.) Also we are trying to change into more of a interactive family faith formation type system as we fear our meetings in person may be limited due to COVID. So, looking for a system that can be used for both in-person as well as adapted easily for at home teaching by the parents if needed. In our very informal poll of parents, so far our parents and children are fearing something that involves just another academic type remote learning subject (if it comes to that) so trying to determine what might fit best for all situations we may encounter this year. Honestly that's kind of like trying to nail jell-o to a wall but that is where we are at this year with pretty much everything. :-) (I work with Joan as the DRE for MS and HS so above is speaking from my perspective.)
Hi Kelley, I was very nice to speak to you and hope the Communication Center's comparison tool is helpful. I will check back frequently for further communication. Have an awesome day!
